Human: 1Kg Spool inside your Dremel 3D45 ============================= ==================================== Updated August 30 ------------------ The bolts had no holes in the hooks. If you downloaded before 14:50 GMT August 30, please download the hook component again. While I usually recommend the Dremel 3D45 printer, one of its most frustrating features is that the filament spool door opening is 180mm in diameter. Most third-party filament spools are 200mm in diameter so they won't fit inside the printer. Or will they? I've tried feeding filament from an external spool into the printer, but it's much better to have the spool inside the printer housing for several reasons. 1. The filament feeds more smoothly, causing fewer blockages in the print head. 2. The filament stays warm, so it remains dry. 3. The printer enclosure remains closed, so there is less chance of filament getting tangled or jammed. 4. The print quality improves because the filament is not stretched or compressed during printing. To get your spool inside the printer, you'll need to modify it by cutting off a small portion of the flange that fits into the printer's spool housing. This will give you enough space to fit the modified spool into the printer. Here's how to prepare a spool for printing: Open a spool of filament and identify which flange will go inside the printer. Cut, or break off at least 10mm (half inch) all around the edge of the flange. Be careful not to damage the filament. If your filament spool flange is too tough to cut, you'll need to use a different method. Print a new spool and transfer the filament onto it. Print a well-fitting spindle and insert it into the spool. Feed the filament into the printer and put the spool into the machine. Attach the door cover to the printer, then check that the spool rotates freely. Start your print.
