Replacement Part for 1998 Honda Civic Hood Latch. The pull component on the Civic hood latch can break off in freezing temperatures, leaving only one replacement option: the entire latch and cable assembly. This innovative design allows you to attach this replacement latch directly over the remaining plastic on the cable from your previous latch using superglue. It's highly customizable, so if you choose to remove the old plastic, you can adjust the inner cylinder size for a perfect fit. To install the new latch, I used superglue to secure it in place. Before applying the glue, I sanded down the old plastic and filed the inside of the new latch for a precise fit. The photo shows the completed installation on my car.
