The Dodge Dakota is known simply as the Ram Dakota for its final two years of production - a mid-size pickup truck that emerged from Chrysler's Ram division (formerly Dodge Truck). From 1987 until 2009, it was sold under the Dodge banner. Its precursor, the first-ever Dakota model, debuted in 1986 as part of a new generation alongside the reimagined Dodge Ram 50. For 2000, the Dakota took on a starring role by receiving a nod for North American Truck of the Year. This pickup was designed with careful attention to detail from Chrysler - as a mid-sized pickup it had been thoughtfully engineered with many parts sharing a relationship with pre-existing Chrysler products and the manufacturing facility being used simultaneously by the Dodge D-Model. 'Dakota' translates to 'friend or ally', originating in the Sioux language; yet some suggest an indirect nod towards its American geographical cousins, the Dakotas, in North and South Dakota. Its successor arrived onto the scene around 1991. A 1997 model of this vehicle was officially announced through press release during the summer of 1996 and took shape from July to July, a four-year period concluding in 2004. Although its outer look had inherited characteristics reminiscent of the Ram trucks on the market, internally it shared an unmistakable connection with its predecessors. Based on 3D graphics modeling techniques, this model replicates one such version, specifically designed from the blueprint of the Dodge Dakota pickup from the year 1997. Product Specifications: - Approx. 37899 polygons - A predominantly polygonal framework, comprised entirely of either 3 or 4 points - As there exists no representation of a fully contained interior cabin within the design - the manufacturer has cautioned users to effectively darken all exposed windows, and to make certain that this visual alteration holds true as users adjust perspective in any way. - In its standard configuration the model has a set number of discrete exterior panels not included under this single unified description - meaning one must separate what otherwise seems connected - this can indeed confuse viewers at times.
