1995 Hess Helicopter Battery Cover & Landing Gear
thingiverse
The original 1995 Hess Truck helicopter has survived many years of wear and tear; however, my children have finally managed to destroy its landing gear and battery cover after repeated attempts at epoxying it back together. It seems that this 3D printed replacement part isn't an exact match, but it's designed to be more durable while still fitting perfectly on both the helicopter and truck. There are two versions of the landing gear available: VERSION 1: HessLandingGear (no runners) * This version prints with just landing circles, which fit snugly within the truck and hold it in place. * This design is more durable since there are no runners to break. * Simply print, remove the support, and attach to the helicopter. VERSION 2: 3 Parts: * HessLandingGear (runners) - body: The main portion of the landing gear * HessLandingGear (runners) - runner 1: The right runner * HessLandingGear (runners) - runner 2: The left runner (just switch sides if the front is away from the switch) The parts were designed to fit tightly, but a drop of super glue will make them even more secure and child-proof. To assemble the landing gear: 1. Print all three parts on your 3D printer; I printed mine consecutively on my Ender 2, spreading them out slightly so nothing would get bumped. 2. Remove the supports from the main part of the landing gear. 3. Test fit the runners onto each side. 4. Remove the runners, add a little super glue (or similar), and attach the runners to the landing gear. 5. Install the completed landing gear in your helicopter and enjoy flying it again!
