A friend recently misplaced a crucial plastic component from his vintage 1970s Rhodes Suitcase 73 electric piano - specifically, a small insert that secures the feet of the instrument in place. After conducting an exhaustive search, they finally managed to fabricate a replacement using digital callipers within a remarkably short span of five minutes. A further ten minutes were devoted to refining the design through a process known as fusion. The newly crafted insert measures 34mm in width at its outer edge, commonly referred to as the "lip". Notably, the lip height is precisely 1.1mm. Upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that the internal dimensions of the insert are 27.1mm, while the external measurements reveal a slightly larger dimension of 29.1mm for the main body of the component. Lastly, the overall height of the fabricated insert stands at an impressive 11.1mm.
