Peggy is an armed yacht constructed in 1789 specifically for George Quayle MHK, a highly influential politician and banker on the Isle of Man from 1757 to 1835. As the oldest remaining Manx craft, Peggy is one of only a handful of surviving vessels built during the 18th century. For over a century following Quayle's passing, Peggy was placed within the boathouse he had built for her adjacent to Bridge House in Bridge Street, Castletown, effectively forgotten. As interest in her grew throughout the 20th century, she was gifted to the people of the Isle of Man to be held in trust by Manx National Heritage in the 1930s. Schooner-rigged and featuring sliding keels, Peggy is the oldest surviving example of such a vessel.
