1966 Pontiac GTO Grill Mounting Tab Repair
thingiverse
My GTO grills had three broken mounting tabs where the J-nuts attach to the grill. I printed new tabs out of solid PLA, a material stiff enough to hold its shape, and attached them securely using an epoxy specifically designed for use with plastic materials. Using my Dremel tool to smooth out the rough edges, I carefully sanded down the broken areas until they were even with the rest of the grill. Next, I held everything in place using blue painter's tape while letting the epoxy fill in any gaps or cracks that had formed. As a reference point, I used the non-broken tabs to ensure the whole assembly was level and properly aligned before allowing the epoxy to harden completely.
