1937 Crosley AM Radio faceplate
thingiverse
This was a custom job. A representative from the Alabama Historical Radio Society brought me an old, broken plastic component from a circa 1937 Crosley AM radio. The glass had cracked, and so had the plastic. We sourced a brand-new glass piece, but no luck with finding a matching plastic one. So I redrew the part in Inventor to replicate it exactly as originally designed. I took some creative liberties to fine-tune it for 3D printing, but the end result turned out fantastic! He then painted the black ABS part with a brown acrylic to better match its appearance with the original wood veneer, and the outcome is absolutely breathtaking!
