1911 Build Tray 1
thingiverse
I needed a secure spot to store all the components of my 1911, whether it was for an entire build or during a full disassembly. To achieve this, I created tray 1 of 2 (or possibly even 3). This tray is designed specifically for larger parts and can accommodate both standard and commander-sized components. The second tray will house all the smaller items. The images display my initial attempt at the tray, which featured slightly beveled edges. However, I have since refined the design to eliminate the beveling and instead opted for a flat top and bottom with rounded corners - this makes it faster to print, uses less filament, and overall is an improvement. The frame slot currently accommodates only the bare frame itself, without any ejector or plunger tube. I plan to add cut-outs for these components as well as elongate the frame opening in the updated version.
