This is a custom cylinder I designed for a friends 1902 Gearhart Knee Knocker. As that machine was heavily used the locating diameter in the base may be oversized for others machines. There are three prints required with the base being printed upside down. Designed for PETG and solvent welding. Please do not use PLA and CA glue. I use Weld-On #3 for solvent welding. 2mm dowels are required to align the parts. Finish slots and do a drop needle test prior to solvent welding. Print the base solid and all perimeters to get a good circumferential lay. Print layer height is .2mm except at the top of the top part which is adjusted to .1mm. The top and mid should be printed 3 perimeters with the outermost being very slow. Use at least 25% infill for the mid and top. Avoid crossings when traveling and avoid seems in slots to ease finishing. To get a good cylinder you should print on a smooth and level print bed. No printers tape. As printing PETG can be hard to remove from some surfaces please use a release agent. I use windex on a PEI flexible steel plate designed into my printer. Many have destroyed their print beds printing PETG.
