1900`s Guillotine
thingiverse
Old-fashioned days call for an olden-style beheading guillotine. Learning SolidWorks sparked an interest in designing something unique, so I created a concept that I thought would be interesting to share on Thingiverse. I designed the guillotine to be printed without supports, despite having slight overhangs of 1mm on the upright beam supports. I decided not to worry about these minor issues and printed it without supports, which turned out great. The parts are designed to fit a 230x150x150 mm print bed, but bigger is always better. Using 20% infill worked perfectly and added strength where needed. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the parts fit together, requiring only minimal sanding around the edges. The blade glides smoothly off the printer. I'm happy with my design, which locks all parts together securely. For a personal touch, I attached a razor blade to my print instead of using a 3D printed blade, adding weight and visual effect. I hope this project inspires others to try it out. It was a small learning project that allowed me to explore the capabilities of SolidWorks and contribute to Thingiverse. Good luck with printing, and thanks for taking a look!
