18mm sensor mount for E3D Titan Extruder
thingiverse
This is a mount for an 18mm inductive sensor specifically designed for the E3D Titan Extruder. While many people prefer to use inductive sensors with a 12mm diameter, I acquired one with an 18mm diameter. As a result, I can run this sensor on 5V and enjoy an extended sensing range. However, most mounts available on Thingiverse are designed for 12mm sensors. After purchasing the Titan, I discovered that there is already a well-designed mount for attaching a sensor to the carriage. Unfortunately, it was created with 12mm sensors in mind. To address this issue, I remixed the design to accommodate my 18mm sensor. The resulting ring has a diameter of 19mm (slightly larger than necessary), while the rest of the design remains unchanged. UPDATE (29.05.2016): Following the assembly of my Titan and all its components, I found that the sensor fits snugly into place (with one screw requiring some extra effort to turn). Nevertheless, everything appears to be functioning properly. Over the weekend, I successfully completed a few prints using this setup. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: P3Steel Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30% Notes: This print was created with white ABS filament from Verbatim in a diameter of 1.75mm, utilizing a resolution of 0.2mm and 30% infill. Although it's uncertain if these settings are truly necessary (less infill and a coarser resolution might also be effective), they were the default slicer settings used for my previous print, courtesy of Cura.
