This carpenter's tool features two essential components: the long rectangular socket for the wooden handle, and the cutting edge. The cutting edge is significantly wider than the rest of the tool and is curved in shape. Found at Grădiştea de Munte – Sarmizegetusa Regia, a commune within Orăştioara (Hunedoara County), this artifact measures 11.5 cm in length and 5.5 cm in width. The tool is crafted from iron using the technique of hot forging. Dating back to the 1st century AD and spanning into the beginning of the 2nd century AD, this piece falls within the Late Iron Age (Dacian) time period. A team from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca utilized 3D laser scanning technology to digitize this artifact.
