This gleaming alkaline-glazed earthenware container once belonged to Dr. Peter Davis, a respected hoodoo practitioner from South Carolina. A prominent inscription on the base proudly declares "Dr. Peter Davis 1888." This remarkable vessel was meticulously scanned in three dimensions using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner and generously shared for this project by Robert Hunter, editor of Ceramics in America Magazine.
