1888 Grave Marker @ St. Michael's Cemetery in Sioux Falls
thingiverse
This grave marker was erected to honor the memory of Elise Kohler, who passed away in 1888 - just one year before the Dakotah territory split into its constituent states of North and South Dakota. It stands proudly at St. Michael's Cemetery in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Instructions The quality of this project is less than I'm satisfied with. Under a time constraint, I employed a manual focus prime lens on my Nikon camera while being plagued by persistent mosquito bites. The result was me capturing as many clear photos as quickly as possible but neglecting to experiment with the camera height during captures. This decision limited the photo count and prevented adequately modeling parts of the monument in some screen shots. The shots were taken in RAW format using my Nikon, subsequently imported into Adobe Lightroom for adjustments to exposure levels and sharpness. Once complete, the images were exported as 16-bit TIFs and further refined through masking techniques. As a final step, the masks were saved as PNG files. In Agisoft Photoscan Pro, the rendered model utilized an ultra-high resolution setting. Unfortunately, my haste when shooting hindered the final product from achieving its full potential.
