Human: Adapter Converts 18650 Battery to 2 D Cell Flashlight Instructions This adapter converts a single 18650 battery into two d cell flashlights. It adapts an 18650 battery in place of two d cells. Print two copies of every part to assemble a 4 cell flashlight. Extra parts required: 1 penny for negative terminal 4 1/8"x 62mm dowels or plastic rods 5 inches of 14ga stranded wire Assembly Instructions: Strip off half an inch of insulation from the end of the wire. Insert it through the bottom part of the adapter. Flare out the strands. Insert the penny into the bottom piece, and secure it with pliers to press it firmly against the flared-out wire strands. Attach the two pieces that make up the top of the adapter by applying super glue to the part without holes onto the other part, lining it up by a battery. Remove the battery after the adhesive sets. Slide the exposed wire through the hole and cut off any excess. Strip back another half inch of insulation from the end of the wire and push it back through the same hole. Cut off any stray strands that get in the way and cause the wire to be raised above the bottom of the hole, according to photo 2. Now, attach both ends of the dowels together by applying super glue, then insert them into top part until they reach their full length. Place several drops of glue onto each end and attach the bottom piece securely over it, making sure the edges match exactly. Push a single 18650 battery firmly against flared-out wire through hole at the top to test the adapter's length. Total length should be 120mm from positive to negative end; make necessary adjustments accordingly. Continuity must be checked upon completion of the project.
