18650 Storage Shelf with 27 Cells: A Modular Design for Safe Storage The design features 9 bays, each holding 3 cells, totaling 27 storage units. There are two versions of this shelf: 1. Thin Version: Prints in 5 hours with a layer height of 0.4mm on all walls. 2. Thicker Version: Takes 12 hours to print and has 5 layers of 0.4mm on all walls, plus 6-7 layers on the ends. The images shown are of the thin version without locking grooves and a depth of 55mm, compared to the full-depth design of 70mm for the larger version. Feel free to modify the size and dimensions to suit your needs, making it thinner, thicker, deeper, or shallower as required. As an experiment with 9-cell Dell Laptop batteries, I found that cutting them apart resulted in some issues, including a fireball incident. To address this concern, I designed these storage units for safer testing before applying the cells to their final use. The holes measure 68mm x 19mm and have a depth of 55mm, allowing easy removal by grabbing the edge. If you prefer to store loose cells endwise, you can adjust the width, shrinking it by about 10mm or widening it by 5-6mm to hold 4 cells per bay.
