18650 Case

Tired of dealing with printed parts that just don't fit together perfectly, I took matters into my own hands and designed this innovative slip lid case. At the heart of its clever mechanism lies a trusty Ball Nose Plunger (McMaster-Carr #3408A104), carefully chosen for its unique qualities. I've already put this design to the test, making crucial modifications to ensure that the lid slips effortlessly onto the main body. Now I'm waiting anxiously for my shipment of Ball Nose plungers to arrive - when they do, I'll know if any fine-tuning is needed to perfect the fit. Here are the printing specifications used to create this clever part: Printer: Turnigy Fabrikator 3D Printer Settings: Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15mm Infill: 20% Notes: Printing material: 1.75mm PLA Extruder temperature: 218C Print speed: 35mm/s Nozzle size: 0.4mm Shell thickness: 1.2mm Top and bottom layers: 1.5mm Bed temperature: 70C For a quick and easy removal of supports, I've opted for a specialized tool - the Disappearing Purple Glue Stick, paired with a strategic application of Hair Spray to ensure maximum effectiveness. This part printed smoothly in just under 6 hours and 15 minutes, using my reliable Turnigy Fabrikator.
