Batteries supplied with my radios were not reliable and I had some 18650 batteries that I decided to fit in these walkies. I used 10mm wide adhesive copper foil tape to wire the batteries in the tray. WARNING: original battery voltage says 7.4V but if you measure actual voltage it's only 4.1V - one cell. Connect your 18650s in parallel to get more capacity and NOT more voltage! Radios are a little bulkier now but provide me worry free one week of connection with my hiking groups. Spring clip needs to be glued with CA and it was done to simplify the print.
