18650 Battery Holder for Multi Battery Packs
prusaprinters

This is an 18650 battery sled that I designed for use in multi battery packs. It was specifically designed for my electric skateboard, but i have used them for multiple projects. Here is a link to the specific springs this was designed for: LINK. You need to solder wires to the contacts before inserting them into the battery sled, or you will risk melting the sled beyond repair. I have successfully soldered 22 gauge wires to them while installed in the sled though, you just need to be careful. There are holes in the bottom to allow the pack to be zip tied together. Please see the photos for reference on the best methods i have found for assembling the pack. You may want to use fish paper between the batteries, and/or heat shrink over the entire pack.

Version 8 is the latest, but i have included the previous revisions as well as the Fusion 360 file.

Use at your own risk. These have not been extensively tested. I used 20 of them in a 10s2p 18650 pack for my electric skateboard and have not had any issues after about 50 miles on it, and 2 charge sessions- so take that for what it is.

Print settings I used

100% infill

ABS or PETG (I had a friend print some of mine in ABS, i printed my own in PETG)

Support on, this should be only used for the zip tie holes

.12mm layer height

One of the photos shows an incorrect print orientation. They should be sitting flat on the bed, with the screw holes touching the bed.
