18650 Battery Holder

This is a versatile 18650 battery holder designed for easy storage on shelves or tables. Inspired by Dronnn's innovative design on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2099310), I set out to create a customizable version using OpenSCAD, allowing users to tweak dimensions, snugness, and battery capacity. The included STL file accommodates 16 batteries, but the Customizer tool enables adjustments for varying quantities in both directions via numx and numy settings. For precise hole sizing, a standard utility knife can be used to scrape out any imperfections. Notably, this design also serves as an effective battery cap when dimensions are set to 1, clearance is minimized, and holes are carefully cleaned up for a snug fit. The accompanying 18650_battery_cap.stl file provides optimal results in this application. For added flexibility, consider using flexible filament for a battery cap – it may yield even better performance, although I did not experiment with this option.
