Making a high-capacity power bank out of recycled laptop batteries, a custom 3D-printed case, and a simple recharging circuit is an exciting DIY project. I assembled six 18650 lithium-ion cells, each with a capacity of 2500mAh, to create a single battery pack with a total capacity of 15,000mAh. The power bank's case was designed using Fusion 360 software and printed on my Creality CR10 V2 3D printer. To recharge the power bank, I used a simple circuit board from eBay that cost me just $10. For those interested in customizing their own power bank, the Fusion 360 files (.f3d) are included with this project. The charging circuit is an XZX-887Y model and can be found on Amazon or eBay for under $10. To print the 18650 cradles, I used a design from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2348345).
