185 Mini Quadcopter
thingiverse
I designed a 185 size miniquad perfect for use with 4 inch propellers, equipped with 6 standoffs and integrated mounting holes suitable for 36x36mm flight controllers like Naze or CC3D. Slots on the arms accommodate 1806 size motors secured with M2 screws, while tiny slots keep Zipties holding ESCs mounted on the arms in place. Built to withstand crashes while minimizing excessive material use, this design boasts cutouts in the main body and arms for added strength without bulkiness. A smaller slot allows mounting of HS1177 camera brackets using an M3 screw and locknut with ease. After printing both the frame and UBQ 180 designs using ABS and identical infill settings, my frame showed a bit more stiffness, though I'm unsure if this translates to improved durability in flight. Given its propensity for breakage, I highly recommend printing the miniquad in PET for added toughness against medium to hard crashes. I invite your feedback: share any ideas you may have to further refine this design and improve its overall performance!
