This is the ceiling of the basement in the house where painter Hieronymus Bosch grew up. It is very well possible that he saw the same roofbeams, that we see here, when fetching things for his father Antony van Aken who had a painter's workshop at this address Markt 29 's-Hertogenbosch Netherlands. The oldest parts of the ceiling are from the 15th century.
