This project was just me experimenting with my new resin printer. I realized due to the significant improvement in print resolution that resin provides, I could print tiny objects and simply CADed up this airgun pellet as a lighthearted joke. I had no confidence that the rounds would hold together at all. I shot one over a chronograph to test its speed, using a pine board as a backstop. It clocked in at over 1,800 fps out of a Crosman Phantom 1000. Not only is the speed astonishing but the pellet I fired into the board retained its shape...even the skirt on the pellet remained intact. Extremely surprising results. Note, this definitely won't work with FDM printers. Please also note that these pellets will likely exceed the speed of sound out of most air rifles and are extremely loud as a result. Use at your own risk...follow all airgun safety protocols...hearing protection is highly recommended, especially in enclosed spaces.
