1800 FPS 0.177 Cal Airgun Pellet
thingiverse
This project was just me playing around with my new resin printer. I realized due to the improvement in print resolution that resin offers I would be able to print small things and just CADed up this airgun pellet as more or less a joke. I had no faith that the rounds would hold together at all. I shot one over a chronograph to test the speed, using a pine board as a backstop. It clocked in at over 1,800 fps out of a Crosman Phantom 1000. Not only is the speed ridiculous but the pellet I fired into the board actually kept its shape...even the skirt on the pellet was intact. Very very surprising stuff. Note, this definitely won't work with FDM printers. Please also note that these pellets will likely exceed the speed of sound out of most air rifles and are extremely loud as a result. USE AT OWN RISK...FOLLOW ALL AIRGUN SAFETY PROTOCOLS...HEARING PROTECTION IS RECOMMENDED ESPECIALLY IN ENCLOSED SPACES
