17.5 inch Articulated Bender (Futurama)
thingiverse
Here for your approval is 17.5" of fully functioning bending unit...BENDER from Futurama! This model was built entirely in TinkerCad, a revolutionary design tool that enables anyone to bring their ideas to life. He can be posed any way you like, with his door opening for storage and his head turning to capture your unique perspective. His expressive face comes with two different looks, ensuring that he always conveys the perfect emotion. Interchangeable eyes let you customize his gaze, while his arms, legs, and fingers can be posed in countless ways. His hips swivel freely, allowing him to move with fluid motion, just like his animated counterpart on the show. No single part is larger than 5 inches, making it easy to assemble and transport your BENDER. I've made some fantastic accessories for him, including a Gender Bender outfit complete with tutu, wig, and magic wand, which can be stored within him just like in the show. You'll also find a beer, cigar, and bent "I" beam at his disposal. To take it to the next level, simply add an evil goatee and watch BENDER transform into his darker alter ego. This print will take some time to complete, requiring 40+ hours on your machine, but trust me when I say that the end result is well worth the wait. So, get ready to unleash your creativity and build something truly amazing! Printer Settings: - Printer: Mbot Clone - Rafts: Yes - Supports: Yes - Resolution: Standard - Infill: 10% Notes: I carefully positioned the parts within TinkerCad's constraints, taking into account my printer's 200 MM3 build space. By grouping related components together, I ensured a smooth assembly process. Post-Printing Assembly: Please note that BENDER's tolerances are relatively tight, so you may need to file or build up the ball joints depending on your printer's accuracy. To assemble your BENDER, apply a small amount of super glue and perform some minimal sanding or filing to remove excess support material. Once dry, coat each joint with XTC-3D and UreCoat for added pressure and resistance. How I Designed This: This model was built entirely in TinkerCad, a powerful design tool that enables anyone to create complex models with ease. With no pre-planning or extensive experience required, I designed BENDER on the fly using nothing but my computer and a few pictures of the original character as reference.
