I'm feeling under the weather this week, hit hard by a nasty little head cold. But I didn't let it get me down - instead, I decided to dig out my old 16mm film projector and get to work on preserving some family movies from the 1930s. I've got boxes of old color and black and white films just waiting to be transferred to digital format for safekeeping. Some of these old reels haven't seen the light of day since they were shot, so I was determined to bring them back to life. As I started setting up my projector and camera, I noticed that some of the reels had a square hole in the middle - those were AGFA films. The KODAK ones, on the other hand, had a circle. It was a small problem, but one that could easily have derailed my project. But then I remembered that I've got an Ultimaker 2 printer at home. This thing is a game-changer - with it, I can create anything I need to solve a problem like this. So I took the dimensions of a KODAK film reel and designed a simple two-part model. It wasn't long before I had the parts printed out, and I was back in action. Thanks to my trusty Ultimaker 2, I'm now able to preserve my family history for generations to come - and share it with loved ones all around the world. It's an incredible feeling, knowing that I've got this amazing technology at my fingertips. Thanks again, Ultimaker!
