16gr to 12gr CO2 cartridge adaptor
thingiverse
Planet Bike's first generation Airship CO2 tire inflator originally came with a yellow adapter that enabled 12 gram CO2 cartridges to fit into the 16 gram cartridge holder. This new design is an exact replica of that original adapter. There are multiple versions available, including two models featuring internal bevels that result in only a thirty or forty-five degree overhang for users with imperfect 3D printing capabilities. The longer and shorter models, however, lack this bevel feature, leading to a slightly greater than fifty-eight degree overhang. Fortunately, the non-beveled versions print seamlessly on most machines, rendering the beveled parts unnecessary. The v2 iteration is internally 2mm shorter, causing the 12 gram CO2 cartridge to align more closely with the length of the 16 gram cartridge. Similarly, the v3 model boasts a 3mm reduction in height. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to test these versions yet. A notable improvement in the v4 design is its enlarged inner diameter (19.5mm vs 18.7mm), specifically designed to accommodate 3D printers that consistently produce undersized holes. This adaptation ensures a snug fit for CO2 cartridges. This part's simplicity lies in its straightforward single-revolved sketch design, easily replicable using Fusion 360 software.
