1641H high rise grapple loader HO scale 1:87
cults3d
The model of a high rise grapple loader inspired by a Volvo BM 1641H loader from 1979. It is usually used to load and unload logs. This model was designed with FDM printing in mind but some parts are extremely small (the parts of the grapple for instance) and you will have better results with an SLA printer. If printed on an FDM printer, you will need a 0.25mm nozzle (or finer) and layer heights of 0.05mm. Another option is to scale up the model. I modeled all of the joints and then exported different positions of the moving parts (if you want other angles I can also export them for you). Otherwise, you will have to choose whether to have the main pivot centered or angled by 25° to either side as well as the distances of the boom and stick's cylinders and whether to have the grapple open or closed. Since I had very little pictures of the machine, some parts of the model are not perfect and in one of the positions of the boom, there are interferences with the main body (see details below).
