What's needed to install end-stops on a cheap Chinese "CNC engraver" called the 1610 CNC, sold in Germany through Amazon Marketplace as the Beautystar CNC 1610 or similar names? The 1610 CNC is one of several inexpensive "CNC engravers" available, identified by the size of their milling area. In this case, it's a 160mm x 100mm (XY) machine. These machines are surprisingly good for what they are - a collection of aluminum extrusions. If you're gentle and go slow, it can cut through wood, including hardwood, without much trouble. You can get parts with precise dimensions, which means accurate for wood. The accuracy is around 0.05mm (0.002", 2 thou), less than the wood will expand or contract due to humidity. To achieve this level of accuracy, you need to assemble everything perfectly. However, these aren't CNC mills; there are no independent adjustments, no way to shim the spindle, and no tramming. It's all about loosening and tightening the right bolts.
