These blocks combine with some 50mm tall feet, similar to those found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2250758, allowing the 1610 Y axis rods to be repositioned below the frame rail. This enables the bed to be brought back up to a reasonable height for comfortable work underneath an ER11 chuck and other equipment. This modification naturally reduces overall rigidity somewhat, but it doesn't appear to have a significant impact on this particular machine. The 80mm versions offer the flexibility to position the bed slightly above or below the front/rear frame rails for a total of 120mm Y travel - ideal for a CNC setup like a 1612 machine - at the expense of some loss in Y axis strength and stability. On my machine, this has had no appreciable effect on work quality, but the extra 20mm does prove very useful.
