1602 LCD box
thingiverse
I created this enclosure to house a 1602 LCD display and an Arduino Nano, alongside an LM2596 DC-DC converter and a relay module. The setup is connected to my garage door system and displays the following messages: "THE GARAGE DOOR IS OPEN" or "THE GARAGE DOOR IS CLOSED", depending on whether pin 8 goes high or low. Schematics and the sketch are provided. I customized the sketch to enable mounting the Nano directly onto the LCD using pin headers. The connections are as follows: * LCD RS pin 4 to Nano pin 12 * LCD E pin 6 to Nano pin 10 * LCD D4 pin 11 to Nano pin 5 * LCD D5 pin 12 to Nano pin 4 * LCD D6 pin 13 to Nano pin 3 * LCD D7 pin 14 to Nano pin 2 All components are mounted directly onto the LCD, with the nano secured using headers. I created a +5v and -5V bus using paper clips, which supports the LM2596 converter. For the relay module, a small amount of silicone was used for secure attachment. Note: When printing the parts with ABS material, it's recommended to print each part individually rather than all three at once to prevent warping. This will still result in some warping, but significantly less than printing all parts simultaneously.
