16014 printed bearing-8mm steel balls
thingiverse
As I had a few 8mm steel balls lying around, I decided to design this 16014 ball bearing for the open source Ciclop scanner bed. It uses 12 balls and is simple to assemble since the ball cage just clicks into place. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:740357 Updated April 8th: The 12-ball version works fine, but I added an 18-ball cage if you want or need a smoother-running bearing. Here's where I get my steel balls: http://www.banggood.com/50pcs-Wheel-Bearing-Balls-from-4568910MM-p-967092.html Print Settings: Printer: Prusa Air 2 Resolution: 0.3-0.2 Infill: Minimum 30% Notes: If you print the inner and outer ring together, you might need some cleanup where the printer switches from one object to another, but it's nothing major.
