15W x 25ID x 52OD Metric Taper Roller Bearing
thingiverse
I got tired of wrestling with various one piece roller/ball bearings, even going so far as to try modeling them myself. Despite unleashing extreme force with one handed clamps, I ended up breaking the things or producing a very high friction bearing due to burrs left in the races. So I decided to design a taper roller bearing that could be assembled in pieces - requiring much less fuss than those pesky print models. Print the rollers and carefully remove any nubs from printing. Do the same for the inner and outer races, and if you desire use my assembly pins at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3435555 to hold the two halves of outer race together. Caution - this requires very careful opening up the small holes in the race with a 1/16" drill and very carefully pushing the pins into the holes on final assembly. A little silicone grease and you have a functional bearing. This is a fun but rather academic exercise as steel bearings are vastly stronger, much more accurately made, and pretty damn cheap also. But where's the fun in that!!!!
