Getting the rail-based rig set up has been a major goal, and now it's time to start making some of the necessary parts. The central hole on this rig is designed specifically to accommodate a 1/4" bolt. This design requires two M4 nuts as well as two 24mm M4 bolts. I based my calculations for these hole dimensions on the following equations: vertical dimension, y = 1.0155x + 0.2795; horizontal dimension, y = 0.9927x + 0.3602.
