
15dBi Yagi MIMO 4G Antenna (763 MHz, Band 28)

This is a 4G MIMO antenna designed for Band 28, covering Australia's 763 MHz frequency range. Inspired by Damon Chandler's design, this project utilizes the V5DKJ calculator to optimize performance. To accommodate different bands, I have included Blender design files. By combining two Yagi antennas into one pole mount system, this MIMO antenna offers improved signal reception. A 16mm (2 meter) curtain rod and cheap metal coat hangers were used, resulting in a total cost of around $10 AUD, excluding cabling, connectors, and 3D filament. Initial testing with a Huawei E8372 dongle has shown promising results, with an estimated 10-12 dB improvement compared to using the dongle alone. Although my workshop is located in a poor signal area, with trees blocking line of sight, I anticipate even better performance on a rooftop with clear visibility. To replicate this design, you will need to print 12 director brackets (Yagi763MimoDir.stl) and one radiator bracket (Yagi763MimoRad.stl). The beam was cut to 1430mm, leaving the remainder for potential use as a mounting post. I have included PDF files of the Yagi calculator output for reference. Additionally, I created a small spreadsheet to aid in calculating wire insertion depth, which was secured with super glue. The element brackets were fitted snugly onto the beam, requiring minimal filing to secure them in place. For balun connections, I used teflon pipe tape, but recommend encasing them in silicone goop for outdoor use. For those interested in replicating this design, I can provide a detailed parts list, including connectors, cable, dongle, router, and ethernet POE injector.
