155 North Wacker Drive stands tall in Chicago's West Loop at the intersection of Wacker Drive and Randolph Street. Goettsch Partners designed this 48-story skyscraper, with Jim Goettsch and Steve Nilles leading the charge. The building boasts a LEED silver pre-certification and reaches an impressive height of 638 feet. Located at 155 North Wacker, the structure offers tenants unparalleled access to public transportation hubs, expressways, financial exchanges, major banks, courthouses, and top corporations. This 1.3 million square foot, 46-story building showcases the latest business technologies, including column-free lease spans of up to 45 feet. The ground floor plaza features a four-story covered exterior arcade that passes through a structural glass cable wall façade into the 45-foot tall lobby. The lobby is adorned with Calcatta Sponda, Alpenina, and Rosso Asiago Stone floors and walls. A dramatic sloped diamond-shaped ceiling with recessed light coves makes a striking statement both day and night. The building's exterior features a glass cable wall design that reflects the latest in third-generation architectural innovation. The design utilizes 8-foot-6-inch tall by 10-foot-wide glass lites supported only by vertical cables, creating an unobstructed transparent wall. The exterior curtain wall system is comprised of factory-glazed unitized aluminum and glass, with exterior stainless steel fins. Triangular-shaped linen finish stainless steel columns support the building as it rises from the ground, emphasizing its 640-foot verticality. The arcade addresses the strong pedestrian circulation path that flows east-west along Randolph Street, which will be enhanced by the adjacent Randolph Park currently under construction for completion in mid-year 2010. The park provides a convenient exterior space amenity for building occupants.
