Hammer Robot: A Compact Combat Bot This is a 150g combat robot, with a .STEP file included for those who want to modify it. The build process requires minimal tools and can be completed with ease. To create the wedges, you can either print them or cut out sturdy material using a saw. For optimal results, use 0.5mm Titanium, but Plexi/Acrylic also work well. If printing, scale up the Z-axis to make the wedges thicker. The hammer arm should be crafted from Aluminum or Steel, using the printed template as a guide for cutting. To assemble the robot, start by attaching the Lego hub, which has tolerances that allow it to fit snugly on most printers. However, you can also attach a tighter tolerance version if needed. For screws, use #4 Plastite for everything, except for the top armor and top panels, which require #3 Plastite screws. Use #4s to attach the wedges to the frame. To clear out holes in the hammer gear and base uprights, use a #3 drill bit. These are 2S servos, which should be powered directly from your battery for optimal performance. You may need to trim the servo arm to fit in the gear. A servo arm is also included for the HXT-900 servo, a cheaper alternative that's suitable for indoor use.
