This 3D model originated with Sketchup 13 before its conversion into various other 3D formats. Native to .skp, it seamlessly integrates with 3ds Max 2016 scenes, effortlessly rendered using Vray 3.00 software. Sometimes called Bison, the design leverages the expanded Ausf B chassis, allowing heavier guns to be mounted in place of a turret. The most substantial addition was the 150 mm heavy infantry gun, designated as the sIG 33. This enormous artillery piece was notably compact, just fitting within a high superstructure built up to an impressive 2.8 m height and stretching over the 2.06 m wide tracks. The lightweight superstructure armor offered protection of merely 13 mm, confined solely to the front and sides. As a result, the added weight of 8.5 tons excessively stressed the chassis, rendering this vehicle an unfulfilling experiment. In February 1940, 38 Ausf B tanks were converted into this configuration, ultimately serving with six heavy SP infantry gun units through until 1943. The sIG mounting exhibited flexibility, offering 25° of traverse and a remarkable 75° of elevation before being able to lower by up to -4°. Utilizing an Rblf36 sight facilitated aiming, while separate ammunition storage ensured no onboard shells would be accommodated due to the lack of space. Subsequent attempts to employ the sIG mounted on more robust chassis yielded better results as World War II progressed.
