Since having your plants standing in water is not a good idea, I designed a stand to solve this issue. None of the commercially available ones were very good, either not high enough or not sturdy enough, or made of metal with shitty chrome plating.

I experimented with different sizes. At first I thought a 60 degree segment would be nice, if you could place two on the print bed you'd need 3 prints to get one stand, but that did not work out as planned. So I switched to a 90 degree design that just barely fits on a Prusa i3 print bed, if you print without a perimeter.

You need to print four to get one stand. They interlock with just a little bit of play.

If you want a smaller size, you can scale the file in Slic3r or Cura. At some point, the interlock features will probably stop working because they become too small to print. I did not try this out so don't blame me if it doesn't work.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.3 mm

Infill:

20%

Filament: any PETG any

Notes:

I printed 3 perimeters but 2 is probably fine as well.

Category: Outdoor & Garden
