Red dragons despise weakness and consider themselves to be superior to all other dragons and even other life forms, being the ultimate tyrants. Above all, red dragons hate gold dragons, perhaps because they are the only major species of dragonkind that is naturally more powerful than them. A small number of red dragons serve as allies and mounts of high-ranking Githyanki knights and warlocks, frequently carrying riding parties in incursions into Prime Material from the Astral Plane. This is a consequence of a pact made during the ancient days when the Gith race waged a war against mind flayer empire in order to free themselves. Red Dragons serve while young, gaining freedom when they reach adulthood and keeping the loot gained during raids.
