Mausoleum Kasym-ata is situated on dry bed of Oghuz-jilgas in Kyzylkums. The area abounds with sandy hills covered by sak-saul. One of them has this ruined mausoleum. When V. Kalaur inspected the mausoleum over a century ago, he recorded fallen dome (that's why the mausoleum got named "Kumbez Oiuk" or "Topez Oiuk"). This feature of the mausoleum spawned legend about hunter who hunted birds but shot bird fell on dome of the mausoleum every time. Angered hunter cursed the mausoleum, and it collapsed.
