Round two in designing my portable CNC gantry involves significant changes to enhance toughness and functionality. This upgrade will enable precise cuts for various purposes including laser cutting and 3D printing. The new design includes belt-driven gears, using Kevlar or steel cord belts, with an option to slave an axis on the X axis. However, testing is required to determine whether two steppers perform better. The current design includes bearings and rails but excludes roller ball bearings and races. This build focuses on part construction and cost analysis based on style and appearance. Due to time constraints, some details were not reverse-engineered, but further updates will be provided as the project progresses.
