This version of cycloidal gear box is specifically tailored for FRC Legal Part PM15R-25F-1001.\nYou simply need to add 1X 608z 8mm id skate bearing, 1X F608zz 8mm id bearing, and 1XM8 Hex cap bolt to complete the project.\nWe recommend using a metal ecc shaft to connect the motor and ecc_gear. \nThe design draws inspiration from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1278875 and other university projects. \n Overview and Background FRC teams often require high reduction ratios and compact designed gearboxes. The available options from Andy Mark or Vex are good but not ideal for FRC projects.\nAlso, existing models on GrabCAD or other sources do not meet the requirements for FRC legal motors.\nAs a result, we modified and designed our own gear box.\nBy sharing it with the world, we hope to assist individuals with similar needs. \nLesson Plan and Activity Cycloidal gearboxes offer numerous benefits. • Zero or very-low backlash remains relatively constant throughout the application's lifespan. • Rolling instead of sliding contact reduces wear. • Shock-load capacity increases performance. • Torsional stiffness enhances durability. • Flat, pancake design minimizes size. • Ratios exceeding 144:1 can be achieved in a compact size. • Quiet operation ensures smooth performance.
