14 Piston Radial Piston Engine Model
thingiverse
This is a 14 Piston version of the Radial Engine model by plusalphaDesigns. To assemble: Align two of the 7 piston cylinder blocks so they line up perfectly in eight square holes. Use eight Snap pins to secure the cylinder blocks together, and use a file and sandpaper to achieve a precise fit. Next, connect the Rotor Prop, Rotor handle, and Center pin through both cylinder blocks. Assemble the 7 piston hubs, rods, and pistons within each block. I applied PTFE grease to all moving parts for smooth operation. For the propeller assembly, use the Prop, Prop Housing, and Rotor Prop Link. Align the prop link with the previously installed Rotor Prop and snap the Prop housing into place securely. Print the Propellor on its edge to minimize supports required during printing. The propellor design comes from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:30284 I extend my gratitude to the original designers for their exceptional work. I completed the 7 Piston conversion before discovering that plusalphaDesigns had remixed it, but the Propellor assembly should still be compatible with their files.
