14 ball bearing

14 ball bearing

A bearing in parts that you can assemble yourself easily after printing the parts. 1 large outer ring 1 small internal crown 14 bearing balls. After further tests, a bearing with 13 diameter balls does not work ( balls too big!). The bearing with 12 balls has too much play, so I suggest 12.5 balls to decrease the play between the two crowns. Optional 1 axis to insert in the small crown (glued) and to drill to the diameter of your choice. After printing the 14 marbles and the two crowns, it is easy to place on a table, the small crown in the large one and put 9 or 10 marbles between the two crowns. The placement of the remaining marbles is done one by one by placing them on top of the crowns and hitting with an object that will act as a hammer, to enter the remaining marbles one by one between the two crowns. No need to hit hard, the flexibility of the crowns makes it easy to put them in place. Finally, in the middle of the small crown a pin to stick in the crown, and also to the part you want to turn. You can for example, take the axis with your favorite 3D design software, and drill a 9.8mm hole in its center to fit a 10mm wood or metal rod; It's up to you to define the most appropriate values for this operation!!!
