https://youtu.be/VnWY0r1r9lQ The gear ratio of two of these in series is a staggering 1,901,641 to 1. Important Notice Please be aware that this gearbox is designed as a basic demonstration model. It will self-destruct under load, so please watch the end of the YouTube video to see the failure mode. Gear Down For What? It takes an impressive 1,379 turns of the input sun gear for ring gear #2 to make one complete rotation. These are designed to be mounted in series on the channel or driven with the included stepper motor mount. However, you will need to extend the channel length if you want to use two gearboxes and the stepper motor mount together. Keep in mind that watching the second gearbox rotate can be quite dull due to its slow pace. Gear Details: The helix angle is 30 degrees while the pressure angle is 20 degrees. Planetary Gearset #1 (Input End) specifications include a tooth module of 1, with 16 teeth on the sun gear, 17 teeth on the planets, and 50 teeth on the ring gear. Planetary Gearset #2 (Output End) has a tooth module of .846, with 19 teeth on the sun gear, 20 teeth on the planets, and 59 teeth on the ring gear. I have also included the Fusion 360 project files with this package.
