130mm Sprocket Adapter for Bafang (8Fun Trio) Planetary Gear Motor/Generator
thingiverse
This adapter enables mounting a standard 130mm center 5-bolt sprocket onto a hub motor bolted to the spoke holes. One potential application is utilizing this hub motor as a pedal-powered generator. I designed and built this due to my pursuit of increased uphill torque. The planetary gear motor can be used to drive a wheel via the sprocket attached to this adapter, but I actually utilize it to receive the geared-down input from another motor - a washing machine motor that drives a belt reduction. This larger belt wheel will then drive a 12-tooth freewheeling gear, which in turn drives a 58-tooth gear mounted via this adapter. Since I am using a rear-wheel hub motor, it will offer three ways of powering the rear wheel of my vehicle project: 1. Pedal power via a 7-speed gear set and derailleur. 2. The hub motor itself. 3. A washing machine universal motor with triple gear reduction (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3725694). You can use this 58-tooth gear in my eBay store: https://www.ebay.de/itm/183625465273. The hub motor must be a 36-spoke version on 122mm centers. The freeCAD source is included, allowing you to potentially adapt it for your purposes. I printed the ring in 93% infill PETG and found it incredibly strong at 140g weight. For more information about other aspects of my project, visit https://www.patreon.com/SunTripToGo.
