(13 october 2017 - scale update) DDA40X locomotive (Scale 1:32) for garden railway (LGB tracks)

Hello, this is Kris' wife. I'm posting this message at his request because he's still recovering from a recent medical emergency due to an epileptic attack. He was hospitalized via ambulance and spent over two weeks in the intensive care unit after being put into an artificial coma. Thankfully, he's now on a regular hospital floor, but he's still experiencing brain problems that may take several more weeks to resolve. I'm asking for your patience as he's not yet able to update his DDA40X project. Unfortunately, some users have reported issues with oversized parts, and Kris is currently unable to address this problem due to ongoing health issues. However, after conducting further research, I've identified the source of the issue: a mix-up between inches and millimeters in the part designs. To fix this, simply divide the scale of any affected parts by 2.54. I want to apologize again for any inconvenience this may have caused. In happier news, Kris' wife is an avid gardener who has been enjoying his hobbyist projects, including building locomotives for her garden railroad. This time, he's created a model of the EMD DDX40A, also known as "Centennial" or "Big Jack." It's a massive diesel locomotive that measures 30 meters in real life and has an impressive 6600 horsepower. To build this model, Kris designed it using Solidworks and sliced it with Cura. He printed the parts on his modified Velleman K8200, Ecksbot, and Prusa i3 3D printers. The completed model will be approximately 94 cm long in scale 1:32. The design includes STL files for all parts, as well as pictures to help with assembly. However, Kris notes that the bogies may not fit properly due to his ongoing health issues. He also plans to add electronics to bring the locomotive to life, including a motor, fans, smoke, lights, and sound effects controlled by radio frequency. For more information about this project or others, please visit Kris' blog at http://www.digitalplayground.be. **Print Settings** * Printer: Velleman K8200 - Prusa i3 - Ecksbot * Rafts: Doesn't Matter * Supports: Doesn't Matter * Resolution: 0.12 mm layer height * Infill: 25% * Notes: All parts are designed to be printed without supports, except for the front- and back-buffers. **Post-Printing** After printing, simply sand the parts if necessary and glue them together using superglue.
