The coal enters via a belt conveyor into the raw coal bin, then gets weighed before moving on to the vertical mill. After being ground, air is utilized for sweeping; part of it proceeds to the electrostatic separator. Fine coal from there is directed to the coal bins, which in turn supply coal to the pneumatic screw pumps. One pump services the kiln while a standby is on hand for the calciner.
